Thanksgiving: Pies but no Pilgrims

American Thanksgiving was celebrated last Thursday by members of Gateway Argentina.

While a few restaurants around the city provided Thanksgiving meals - with Turkey, stuffing and all the fixtures, we are convinced that Gateway Argentina's American Thanksgiving party may have been the only place to satisfy Thanksgiving PIE cravings.

Among the many desserts, some traditionally Argentine (with Dulce de Leche) we also had Pumpkin Pie, Pecan Pie and Chocolate Cream Pie. We were lucky to find Pumpkin as Watermelons and Pineapples are filling up the shelves of the produce markets.

The mood was festive and the breeze on the terrace warm, no fall foliage as spring is in full bloom in Buenos Aires.
