Looking for an educational opportunity that combines Spanish language, law and cultural immersion—without the sting of the overinflated Euro?

Check out Gateway Argentina, a Spanish language and cultural immersion program based in Buenos Aires.

Among the company’s myriad offerings (including an Argentine wine course and volunteer opportunities) is one designed specifically to teach lawyers and law students to speak the law in EspaƱol. The programs are customized for every participant but are designed for lawyers and law students with some degree of Spanish fluency, according to Lauren Guptill, Gateway Argentina founder.

Guptill worked with Laurel Lichty, an Illinois native with a U.K. law degree, to design the legal program. It typically includes 20 hours of weekly language instruction, the opportunity to volunteer or intern with an Argentine professional, and exposure to other educational and cultural opportunities.

Participants can live with a local family, or Gateway Argentina can arrange private accommodations.

The program requires a minimum one-month commitment. Prices for the law program, which include housing, start at $2,350.

If nothing else, the program may just give you the excuse you’ve been looking for to finally get to Buenos Aires.
